Our Team

Sophie Stabell

Sophie Stabell

Growing up sailing I’ve always been drawn to the sea. It was through friends from my university rowing team I first heard about ocean rowing. At first it seemed unimaginable. Eventually it became clear that I had to take part in this adventure. I am really confident in the incredible team of tough and energetic girls I have with me.

Mountains, snow and skiing have always been my natural habitats. Apart from my officer background specialised as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal operator, this will by far be the most suspenseful and challenging adventure I have ever participated in. I am ready to push new boundaries!

Although the dangers will be of a different nature I hope that my experience as a police detective will be useful when facing the challenges ahead. It is with great humility I say that I am going to see this through. However, I am prepared to be a strong contributer to the success of this great team.

Due to an innate urge for adventures and my unstoppable curiosity I have decided to join this Atlantic Challenge – crossing the ocean in a rowing boat! Having sailed across the Atlantic and completed numerous skiing expeditions I am ready for my life’s biggest and toughest test.
